About

Life on the line is a collection of portraits taken along the Arctic circle ( or within 50 km either side of it ! ). There are eight countries with territory along the circle:  Iceland, Greenland, Canada, USA ( Alaska ), Russia, Finland, Sweden and Norway. It is hoped that the project will be published in 2011 by Polarworld and available in several languages. To date I have made six trips ( including two to Sweden ) and will visit Canada in April 2010 and the first of two visits to Russia in summer 2010.

The Arctic circle is a diverse place. In all of the territories there are indigenous peoples ( including Yupik, Inupiat, Inuit, Chukchi, Native American Indian, Sami ) as well as incomers from Europe.
